Fire Velo is a “Fire Department” based, cycling club. We are Firefighters riding for Firefighters. Our goal is to be a highly visible national cycling organization, participating in rides and charity events throughout the United States. All funds raised through Fire Velo will help provide financial assistance to fire department based groups and causes. We are presently pursuing our 501(c)3 nonprofit status.

Fire Velo is open to all levels of riders from beginners to veterans; weekend riders to racers; roadies to mountain bikers. Some members have over thirty years of riding experience while others have not been on a bike in years. We participate in local and national cycling events. We hope to make these rides a great social event while at the same time bringing focus to many great causes pertaining to the fire service.

As previously stated, it is our goal to assist in providing financial support to the many facets of the fire service. Fire Velo and the Firefighter Cancer Support Network have maintained a partnership since both of our inceptions. We will continue supporting the Firefighter Cancer Support Network (FCSN), not only with financial assistance, but also help with increasing the visibility of this worthy cause. Regional Membership For a one time, one hundred dollar membership fee, you will become a “Regional Member” of Fire Velo. As a Regional Member you will receive a Fire Velo jersey and become an active cycling club member.

National Membership
To become a “National Member” you will be required to raise one thousand dollars in donations for Fire Velo. As a National Member, you will receive a full uniform (jersey, shorts and wind jacket), and be qualified to purchase additional uniforms at slightly above cost. You will have priority at all organized club cycling events with rider space limitations and receive discounts at Fire Velo sponsored events. We have mentors available to assist in your efforts to raise your donation.

Charter Club We are presently working on developing Charter Clubs throughout the United States that will allow Fire Velo members to participate in events within their own area as a group. If you are interested in creating your own Charter Club within your geographical area or Department please contact us for more information.

We are, first and foremost, a cycling club. We are a dedicated group of fire service cyclists that have a passion for our sport and a willingness to share it with others. And through Fire Velo we will be supporting many great causes and organizations within our fire service family.
