3 NZ Firefighters Injured
Three firefighters are in a critical condition after explosions which engulfed a fire truck at a cheese coolstore at Tamahere, 9km southeast of Hamilton.
Eight firefighters were taken to Waikato Hospital after the explosions, at the Icepak Coolstores about 4pm on Saturday.

I regret to inform you that one of the above firefighters has died from his injuries. He was Senior Station Officer (Capt.) Derek Lovell. Our deepest sympathies are extended to his family, friends and workmates.
