Two North Carolina Firefighters Killed Battling Five-Alarm Mill Blaze

Updated 7pm ET -- Two firefighters have died and four others were injured after battling a five-alarm fire at a lumber yard in Rowan County, North Carolina.



According to a Rowan Regional Medical Center official, one firefighter died on the way to the hospital, the second died after arrival. Two other firefighters are being treated at Rowan Regional. The extent of their injuries is not known, WCNC reported.

The dead firefighters were identified Friday afternoon as 40-year-old Victor Isler and 19-year-old Justin Monroe of the Salisbury Fire Department.

Everyone in the Wheatland Vol. Fire Dept. sends our thoughts and prayers to the families of the galent Fire Fighters that made the ultimate sacrifice today. All gave some...... Some gave all..... My brothers I know you are going to be watching over all of us now. Two more brothers have fallen and will not be forgotten.

Rowan County has a special place in my heart. The Rowan County Sheriff's Office and Fire Services were a great aid to me and mine after Hurricane KATRINA.

My condolences to the Department and the families.

my deepest sympathy goes out to the families and coworkers of the salisbury firefighters. May god be with them in their time of need. We are all hurting through this tragedy.

Are praryers are with the families who lost there member but remember when a familey loses a fire fighter all the fire fighters around the world losse a bruther or sister fire fighter we will be thing of the families from the fire department in suger grove arkansas

This is a very sad day. I extend my condolences to the families of the two fallen firefighters, may they rest in peace. I share your pain and my heart goes out to all of you.
I would also like to send my prayers to the families of the two injured firefighters for their full recovery. May god be with all of you!

The famlies of the 2 firefighters have my deepest sympathy. May God watch over their families and the famlies of those injured and all the firefighters from that department. My heart goes out to all of you, and your all in my thoughts and prayers
