Kim, i sincerely hope you will press charges against this preeditory idiot. If you dont, someone will get badly hurt or worse before he is done..once a preditor, always a preditor is the way I see it..Good luck, buddy..stay safe and tell your daughter that we are praying for her that this is corrected, as soon as possible

ya know, the sad thing is it happens lotsa places, for instance when i was 19 i was hit on in a very uncomfortable manner by like a 55yo........ it took another person complaining for somethin to be done bout it.............


dont get me wrong I absolutely love the FD but theres still alotta stuff that is a bit backwards

I agree with most of the other postings, for sure. I do agree that a cool off period for her is not a bad thing, but a "suspention". There is no way she should have anything on her record that would diminish her rights in the company or any future benefits she may be entitled to. The company working with you, the Dad, should make every effort to make her feel wanted and not make this negetive experience something that will cause her harm in the future. We need as many dedicated citizens as we can have in our volunteer ranks. Best wishes for a good outcome.

Ok Kim..... here goes....... If it were me, first and foremost I'd be calling the police and having the idiot arrested for inappropriate actions with a minor. I, being a father of a 15 yr (soon to be 16 in May) daughter, would not stand for anything like that. I'm am very protective of my family, to include this family! They should NOT have suspended her and feel an appeal should be made. The high-ups were way out of line. They should have immediately removed the threat (i.e. the 25 yr old punk) and protected her in every way shape and form. I would have a sit down with the president and admin members about this suspension issue and insure it will not be on record and her time away be removed for accountability for county records. Here in Virginia s a volunteer, you have to have so many hours on the books to receive tax breaks and maintain your status, before you are reprimanded, then suspended, and eventually removed from the department. Kinda the three strikes you're out ruling. It seems our society, justice system, and general public who don't really give a damn.... try to make heads or tails about issues like this, when the writing is on the wall and as plain as the noses on our faces. He harassed her, sexually assaulted her, and is an overall jerk. He should have charges placed on him and made to understand and answer for his actions. But surely as I Am a BIG Firefighting Bear.... this will NOT occur. Now you CAN still do something about him, Kim and take it to the authorities. Press charges and see that true justice is served. This IS my other family, and to me, FAMILY is everything and BLOOD is thicker than WATER. WE do the job together, we stand by each other, if you go...... we go. Noone gets left behind. I ever coe to see you and see this punk, I might just kick his ass for general purpose. Needs to learn how to properly treat women with respect. Hope this will have a happy and justified ending for you and your daughter. Keep us inform, please. Take care and stay safe......

Your Daughter should never have been suspended in the first place. Make sure any documentation of a suspension is removed from her file. I agree with the fact that they had her take a month off for her protection, but it should not have been considered a suspension. She was the victim not the offender, like some one else said.

I have experienced some thing like this in my Fire Department , where the powers that be tried to turn the victims charges around and suspended the perosn making the charges instead of dealing with the person who the charges were orignally against.

I also agree that the fire service has a place for females, I have seen some that are far better then some guys. But don't get me wrong, there are a few girls out there to cause nothing but problems for male members. those are the ones we need to keep an eye on.

Hey bud, hold your hean up high when those 30 days are up and stand your ground.

She should have gotten an aplogize and that SOB should have had his a** kicked. Suspension wise if she did her thirty days and you have proff than they can't do anything! Good luck keep us updated.

sorry about the dummys in u dept she was suspened for the wrong reason she should of gotten a apoligy instead woman belong in the house but in my experence u got to engnore a lot of crap cause that is the way it is not the right way but thats it if i were u i would of busted the a hole in the mouth and shoved a size 10 up his but end bu t that is me stand ur ground and ill be praying for u
