Just like to say Hi to everyone and thank you so much for all the warm welcomes. I am a single (just recently after 12yrs) mom with a autistic son, Johnathon, who is my life. After the lost of three children I was told in 06 that I couldn't have any more children. So I tell everyone I am here on earth for the two J's JESUS and Johnathon. I was also told in o6 that the career I had is the only thing I would ever be able to do. Of course that was coming from Johnathon's dad, Billy, who I worked for his family 50yr old wholesale/retail company, for 16yrs at the time. So, in 07 I left the company and got a job for the state of Tennessee, I am a safety/security officer for a facility that houses criminal MR residents. So, not only did I get another job, in a field that I had no clue what to do, with guys that look like they could rip your neck off, I got on first shift, the shift I needed at the time cause of my son, working for the state(which is hard to do unless you know someone) I did it on my own. Thank You Very Much!!! ha, Of course, that made everyone mouth drop in the great city of LaVergne, which is a small town where everyone knows everyone and what you are doing; and unfortunate for me Billy is one of those big fish in this little pond. But, fortunate for me my job is in Nashville, the only time I am in LaVergne now is to go to the house. I have a wonderful Supervisor, who has taught me alot; he is very straight forward and doesn't sugar coat anything, we were talking one day and I expressed how grateful I was for him giving me a chance, but, that I thought I could do more. His reply was "God puts people in and out of your life to help you get to where He needs you to be." He told me that this type of work wasn't my calling, that I was to kind hearted and he is afraid I will get hurt, thats why I hardly ever go on assistance calls, he sends one of the muscle guys that just by their look can scare you. I told him that I love and enjoy helping people, he said he knows, and that it comes natural to you to help that you don't even think about it when someone needs you, you just do it. I said I was thinking about EMT and he said thats it thats your calling. I prayed hard on it Dec 30th (07) and on the 31st I got my answer.
