TUESDAY AS SOME KNOW ALREADY, I HAD A BIT OF AN UT-OH... I DID A ROUNDOFF BACK-HANDSPRING AND I FELT MY KNEE POP AFTER THE ROUNDOFF, THEN FELT IT POP AND MY TIBIA AND FIBULA SHIFTED POSTERIOR TO THE FEMUR WITH A MEDIAL SHIFT IN THE PATELLA DUE TO THE MVMT OF THE 2 LWR LEG BONES ...... IT DIDNT HURT TOO BAD AT FIRST BUT IT WAS SO UNSTABLE THAT I RE-DISLOCATED IT 2X BETWEEN THE GYM AND MY CAR (OF COURSE I WAS STUBBORN AKA DUMB AND FINISHED MY 1/2 HOUR OF CONDITIONING BEFORE HEADING TO THE HOSP)
BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE HOSP THE SWELLING AND PAIN BEGAN TO START... I DIDNT CRY OR ANYTHING BUT I WAS INVOLUNTARILY SHAKING IN PAIN.... THE NURSE WHO ALSO HAPPENS TO BE A LOCAL MEDIC WAS ABSOLUTELY AN AMAZING CARE PROVIDER/PATIENT ADVOCATE AND LET THE DOC KNOW HE REALLY THOUGHT I SHOULD BE GETTING 4MG'S OF MORPHINE IV RATHER THAN THE PERCOCET PO THAT THE DOC WANTED TO GIVE ME (MY GUESS IS LIKE LOOK, SHES A FF, SHES TOUGH, SHE AINT GUNNA CRY) ........ OHHHH MAN WAS I IN HEAVEN ONCE THE MORPHINE HIT!
HOSP DID A CT W/CONTRAST TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T SHRED MY POPLITEAL ARTERY AND ALSO DID THE XRAYS..... BOTH CAME BACK OK WHICH IS GOOD..... SO THEY KEPT ME FOR THE NIGHT IN THE ED SO I COULD REST WITH MORPHINE KEPT IN MY SYSTEM AND TOLD ME I NEED TO SEE AN ORTHOPOD ASAP SINCE ONLY AN ORTHOPOD AND AN MRI CAN REALLY DETERMINE LIGAMENT/TENDON DAMAGE ETC..........
WENT TO SEE MY ORTHOPOD TODAY...... HE SAYS HE FAIRLY CERTAIN I RUPTURED BOTH MY MCL AND ACL AND CONFIRMED IT HAD BEEN A COMPLETE DISLOCATION (MOST PEOPLE THINK OF DISLOCATION AS WHEN YOUR KNEECAP SHIFTS... A TRUE DISLOCATION IS WHERE YOUR LOWER LEG BONES SHIFT OUT OF LINE OF THE UPPER LEG BONE.. IN MY CASE POSTERIORLY)....
SOOOOOOO YEAH, LOOKS LIKE I WILL BE NEEDING SURGERY... I FIND OUT FOR SURE AFTER I GET THE MRI SUNDAY....
looks like I won't be able to do fire stuff or gymnastics for awhile :(
PS... SORRY FOR CAPS AND ANY SPELLING/ GRAMMAR PROBS... IM ON VICODIN 10/1,000 RIGHT NOW
