Brady Twp Huntingdon County PA:
At 1507 hrs on 10/31/07 Mifflin County 911 Activated Box 25-20 for a Reported Barn Fire on Rt 655 4 miles South of Allensville on SR 655. Sending Co 25 (Allensville), 24 (Belleville), EMS 7 (Milroy) in placed of 23 (Big Valley). Upon response units were advised their were multiple calls to both Mifflin and Huntingdon Counties and they were not sure whose area it was in and both counties were dispatching a full box alarm. Engine 25 was 1st to arrive finding 2 Barns and several out buildings Fully Involved. Engine 25 Blitzed the Barn closest to the residence in an effort to cool it down. Then they pulled a 1 ¾ in Handline to protect the exposure with what water they had left. Huntingdon Engine 10 (Smithfield) was next to arrive and they also blitzed the barn closest to the house. This blitz attack was enough to knock the 1st barn to the ground. Crews then concentrated on knocking the bulk of the fire down. By this time Mifflin Tanker 24 (Belleville) and Huntingdon Tanker 20 (Mill Creek) had arrived and were supplying either engine in an effort to control the fire. Both engines received dump tanks from the tankers and a Tanker Task Force was requested bringing tankers from 4 counties to the scene. Huntingdon Quint 7 (Mt. Union) arrived and went in service between the barns and the house for protection. Crews remained on scene until 1745 hrs with Extensive Overhaul. The corrected Address was 8680 Big Valley Pike which is in Huntingdon County Co 20’s area.
