Ok so I had been watching the forecast and I knew it was supposed to rain for like the next 3 days straight here in Lawrence, but I had no idea what we were really in store for! After getting repeated pages from Dg. county emerg. management saying we were in a flood warning, I was about to pull my hair out because I was tired of hearing the same thing. Pretty soon though, about 5 min. from the last flood warning page, I hear all the tones drop. It was a weather message, but from dispatch this time saying we were under a tornado warning. No big deal right, I live in KS I'm VERY used to tornado watches and warnings. But pretty soon I hear a nearby township go en route after a confirmed tornado touched the ground like 7 miles from my house. By this time the sirens in town were going off and it was eerily quiet outside, after it had been pouring rain for like the last 20 min. I'm officially freaked by this time, I can't get my dang dog to come in the house so I'm worried about him...All in all we had 3 confirmed touchdowns in the area, but thankfully only a couple barns and a house sustained any real extensive damage. Needless to say it was definitely enough excitement for me for a while for sure!!!

Am glad to hear that you are ok. I am sure that is was scarier than in the past because of touching down so close to your home. Am glad to hear that there was minimal damage as well. Stay safe...
