Relationships take commitment and lots of work.
There should be no ground rules.
If you find something interesting about another person and it clicks, then accept it. Don't over analyze it.
If it feels good, do it. If it doesn't, then move on.
Doing your own things makes the time spent together more exciting and fun.
It's all about honesty and trust. It has worked for me for 31years.

My wife of 12 years and I met in the service. She was an RN student that got her EMT and I worked full time for the service. The good thimg about it is that we can talk to each other about our day. But on the other hand she tells me all the timke if something were to happen to me her next husband would not be a firefighter. Relationships are what you make of them, Just do not let personal problems spill into the station. Good Luck

The only people that seem to understand me is ones that are as unique as I am. I'm a single mom, a night shift ER RN, work 2 ERs and am a volunteer firefighter. We are a very strange breed and the general population does not have a clue as to what drives us. We don't date within our dept and work relationships are often difficult, but the outside world thinks we're all crazy. I've never had a decent relationship with someone on the outside. They just don't get it. I've dated several firefighters, an EMT and a police officer over the years. Getting called into work or a fire call when we had plans was never an issue, it was what I do. And the same went here. Relationships are what you make of them and having someone who understands makes it a lot easier.
