Well, here is the first of many blogs about one on my favorite topics, food of course. Nothing is more of a tradition than sitting down for dinner at the house, even if you only get 20 min between runs. I love to cook and all the brothers (and the sis) get stuck with my hair brained ideas for dinner, and yes I get the “what is that?”, Really?”, and my favorite “I brought my own.” But, they end up trying it and liking it so, don’t worry you’re not my little test monkeys (sry if I struck a nerve PETA).
I try to make these healthy fast and easy or at least can be easily stopped and restarted.
If you try this recipe drop me a line and let me know how it was.
Cube Steak and Rice
4-6 Cube steaks
1 package of Onion soup mix (Lipton’s work the best)
4 cups of water
2 cups of Instant Rice
2T of oil
Start with a large skillet turn the burner on Medium High, add oil and Cube steaks cook on each side for 2 minutes, and add 2 cups of the water and the soup mix (the water should cover the steaks if not add enough water to cover) Stir the mix and let that come to a boil cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Uncover and remove Steaks to a serving plate. Turn the heat up and add 2 more cups of water to the skillet and bring that to a boil, add the rice and stir. Cover and Remove from heat wait 5 minutes and then plate.
Server with a light vegetable and Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Severs 4 people.
