Today A church in our community was holding a special service at a local park and wanted all of the Fire Department to show up for the ceremony. As it would be my Engine Company was the only one to show up, they had also set up Careflight to show up as well. We were there for only about 30 minutes or so awaiting for the services to conclude when we were dispatched for a medic assist, and to which I was also listed to accompany the medic when it arrived to take the patient to the hospital. One of our regular medic crews cleared and was sent instead, all we had to do was assist them. We cleared that scene and was dispatched to another medic call, both my buddy and I were both sent with the medic to the hospital and our Engine was unable to return to the ceremony. but all is well it was a great day for us.
