It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of our Fire Chief- Ronny Allen Bennett. Ron was the Chief of the Orcutt Fire Protection District in Orcutt CA. He passed away suddenly from natural causes on 11/14/2007 while preparing to go enroute to a call from his home. He was 39 years old. I ask for your prayers for the Bennett Family and the OFD while we mourn the sudden loss.
Ronny was an active volunteer at our station for 23 years. He started as a fire explorer and he was promoted to Chief in 2003. In addition, he worked for American Medical Response of Santa Barbara County as an EMT/ Mental Health Assessment Technician. He had been with AMR for 8 years.

He is survived by his Parents, Sister, Brother in law, Niece and Nephew.

Funeral Services were held on 11/20/2007. A processional like one never before seen in our town was held. He will be sorely missed.
