ALLEGAN COUNTY -- A fryer started the fire that leveled an Allegan County business on Thursday.
The fire broke out around 1:30 p.m. at the Bresa Del Rio Ranch, a popular western saloon in Otsego that features horses and nightlife.
The ranch was closed on Thursday, but family and friends were making their own Thanksgiving feast in the kitchen area.
A friend said one of the fryers caught fire, and when they tried to splash it with water the grease splattered and the flames grew.
The blaze spread from the kitchen to the horse barn.
Friends of the owners said all of the horses were able to get out of the barn.
There were no injuries.
