Our fire department maybe volunteer, but we cover more miles than most in our state around 300 because of all the farm land. We run fire protection also for a town 20 miles away. Our airpacks are not the fiberglass nice light ones oh heavens no. so far after my last time on here we have done 65 more calls 12 house fires a ton of wrecks and medicals. Im trying to prove to the higher ups that lighter bottles even if we bought 4 would help out tremendous, but according to the chief we have to average 100 house fires a year our big town next to us (Jonesboro) doesn't average 100 house fires. We are currently the only department in our county who doesn't own light bottles. I know for sure that the new light scott 2.2 will fit, in our packs and can be filled from our systems, but what do i know im just a firefighter

Bring it up at a meeting.... the SAFER grant can be used to purchase updated airpacks and tanks!
if your airpacks don't have an intergrated pass alarm they are no longer NFPA approved. Hopefully this'll give you some help.
