National Volunteer Fire Council Launches Junior Firefighter Program

The National Volunteer Fire Council has launched its Junior Firefighter Program, in partnership with Spartan Motors.

I was proud to have been an early participant in the development of the program, which encourages and promotes youth participation in the fire and EMS service.

There are thousands of local junior firefighter programs nationwide. The National Volunteer Fire Council and Spartan Motors have teamed up to create one national program where departments and youth alike can find the resources, tools, and information they need to help develop, grow, enhance, promote, and participate in these local programs.

Fire, rescue, and EMS organizations can use the National Junior Firefighter Program to start, expand, or encourage participation in their local program. Youth participants can use the National Junior Firefighter Program to find out how to join their local fire, rescue, and EMS organization as well as log in their hours of service to receive national recognition and rewards.
