August 13, 2008

Firefighters from Conshohocken went to work on a massive 8 Alarm Blaze in a luxury apartment house that later spread to four other buildings. This was a sad situation. There is a similar complex built on the Christiana River in WIlmington, De. Hope someone from Wilmington was watching.

That fire was the biggest that I've been on. I thought that Lans-Bowl burnin' up was bad, but that's completely another ball game. All of that damage was due to a construction guy leaving a hot welder unattended. You should've heard all of the radio chatter in the beginning of the fire. I had to turn on three portables to hear everything that was going on on all of the event and fireground channels that they had assigned to the scene.

It was Montgomery County Pa along the Schuykill River. I was there on a LDH assignment. We supplied 5000 ft. of 5 inch supply line to contain the fire.
