About Me:
Me and my Bestfriend grew up together in Slater. All our lives we had a passion for the fire service yet young guys weren't on it then. We would race to the fire department on our bikes and just wish we could go with them guys. Kale Brucks and I grew up ofcourse and was given the opertunity to serve our community about four years ago as we where still in Highschool at the Time. Boy we sure didn't have a clue what we were doin'. We graduated Highschool and had just fought fires and helped people. Welp we Both Set Off To college to further our Education, I chose Ag. Business and Kale chose Fire Science. This being a big step for Kale with the devotion to serve and fight for people and their property Opened a big door For Slater. He came back in the summers and taught us a lot of what he learned and a few of us every Winter topped off with a little More knowledge from MU in Columbia. Today we have An Engineer (Me), and one of the best young Training Officers (Kale) any vol. Fire Department would brag about. We love what we do and keep doing it. Hats off to Kale Brucks hes a good teacher. Knowing someday he'll read this and think im kissin' his ass. I'm not gonna cut him much slack I'm still the shit......hahaha....Now Kale is down at the Ozarks and I'm stilling fighting fires in Slater. I'm now employed with Central Missouri AGRIService L.L.C. here in Slater and love it!! My college paid off and I'm greatful for it. I work in the office so its really easy to leave at any time and go fight for a vol. dept. Thats another great perk of my job! Thanks for reading my bio. To everyone stay safe, help people and GOD BLESS THE 343!!!!
I wanted to help people in the time of need. Also this is a small town and not a lot to do so i figured might as well spend my time doin' something worth while
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the mental Bliss on helping people
Top Issues Facing Responders:
A huge Lack of training. Once you slip on the turn out gear you are looked at as everyones hero. So many of us lack a lot of knowledge to bring to the table in helping some save themself or their property. People always look up to firemen. Therefore it is always important for everyone doing the job to do it with the most confidence they can and rookies have to rely on the vetrans guidance.
