I started when I was 17yrs old at the Julian FD, Station 36, they run Guilford/Randolph County.
I was there for about 5 years, then I moved into Liberty's District.

My Training:

I'm certified FF I & II, EMT-B, HAZ-MAT OPS & AWARENESS, EVD, Curently working to get NC Fire Inspections I. NFA Leadership I. Also working on my D/O classes.

About Me:

Aside from being a FF I enjoy riding my motorcycle, 4-wheeler, hunting, camping.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

Honestly... I first got into the Fire Dept. because my friends were involved with it. It was a place to hang out and have fun. It didn't take long to find out that there was something fulfilling about helping other people. I enjoy interacting with the public. I was a machinist for 15 yrs. I enjoyed the money but sometimes I stood in the same 4sq.ft. almost all day. There were no windows, heck even prisons have windows. Our town (Liberty) finally decided to hire another FF in 2006. I asked my wife if we could afford the pay cut, (10 Grand) she said yes so I applied for the job and got it. It would be nice to work 24/48 so I could pick up P/T job. Our schedule is 8-5pm M-F. Anyhow, that is why/how I became a FF.
