Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
I was a member of FPC's fire brigade, one of the only student run fire departments. Left to pursue a more professional department and joined Rindge, NH. While home from school, worked with Maywood Fire in Maywood, NJ
My Training:
Firefighter I, II (NJ)
Hazardous Materials Ops
CPR/First Aid
Pumps
Driver/Operator
About Me:
I started out as a member of the FPC fire brigade, which was a great learning experience and a way for me to get my feet wet with the emergency services. I was very excited about volunteering and having fun while I did it. The main reason for joining was to meet friends and develop a social life at college. I had a bad falling out with the membership at FPCFD and ended up quitting and joining the town of Rindge, NH (where the school I attended was in). I wanted to continue to serve my community, just on a more professional level. I also joined Maywood, NJ's department (engine company 1) and served for 3 years during the school breaks. Maywood was good to me, in it gave me the opportunity to take Firefighter 1 and 2, in 5 weeks. Maywood is a very small town with excellent fire protection systems, so the call volume is very low. Most of my firefighting experience came in Rindge. I was a member with Rindge until graduation from college, when I moved back to NJ. I was offered a job at FPC and moved back to NH, and re-joined, and I've been there since.
Day Job:
Media Production, TV
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
started as a "fun" club activity at college, got very interested and kept going
