Glad to hear you got the mos, I enjoyed my time as a Army firefighter. The best thing you can do is keep your eyes open and learn. I alway made friend with the firefighters off post and on post too. I would get permission to do ride along to learn from the civilian departments and Military departments too. The school is supposed to be better now then when I went, But you will train with the Air Force, That was a fun, it was a break after Basic Training. They will teach you everything you will need to have a good career in the fire service. Some time I will tell you how to be top armystudent in your class. The only thing that is a pain is that at school you will go over a lot of Air Force regulations That you need to learn to pass your block test but the don't mean anything to you cause you are in the Army. Lastly take some advise keep up on you solder knowledge also, I was more of a f/f that a solder for a long while the first time I went to the sgt board they asked the muzle speed of a M-16 I forgot so my answer was "really Fast". yea I had to go back in 6 months and test again. If you go to Ft. Rucker You will do mostly Crash rescue since theFort is the Helocopter pilot training center. I will send you a friend request keep in touch.
There are a few places you can go as a 21M. Ft. Lewis, Ft. Rucker, Ft. Drum, Ft. Bragg, Ft. Polk. and a few more. Just ignore the rumors. 90% of all 21M do there jobs.
