About Me:

Ive worked at my college's police department as a student dispatcher since August 05. This experience has led me to change my major to Criminal Justice and also consider other jobs in emergency services. I joined my local volunteer fire department april 07 as support personnel. I changed my classification in February 08 to probationary firefighter. I am also a first responder for my fire department.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I became part of the emergency services by chance. I was in need of a job and there was an opening in my schools police department's office. I got the job and have been working there 2 1/2 years. I met a young man at my job who I became friends with and that introduced me to the fire department. I joined the fire department april 07.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

the sense of pride when you save someone or their belongings.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

lack of qualified trained personnel, lack of personnel who have the pasion for the service, and the lack of support that some agency's dont receive.
