Top Issues Facing Responders:: lack of money from gov to get the tools to fight fire and be safe. but we do the best we can with what we have .its all anyone can do.

At 5:30am on October 9, 2008, Brent Morey said…: Good save. Got to see a good barn fire the other night. Was training a new guy a came up to a barn fire. No one onscene yet. Barn was about 15 feet from the house. The siding was melted off. We got everyone out of the house and took the garden hose to house until fire got there. Then we helped them set up their dump take so the guys with gear could hump the hose. Barn was lost along with the car and tractor in it. But the house needs new siding and everyone was safe.

I see you were a ff w/ GM.I was w/ the fire brigade at GM Powertrain in Massena,NY for 2 yrs.Their closing the doors at the end of the year so my association w/ GM will be over.But I always found I'd rather be a volunteer FF for nothing than work at GM.But that won't pay the bills.
