About Me:

I was appointed Head of Department at age 28 - the youngest professional fire chief ever in South Africa. During our very stormy political eighties (before the release of Mr Mandela) I commanded a task force of 180 fire-fighters/paramedics - attended to approx 800 structural fires and 7,000 injured/DOA in seven years.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined as a military fire recruit during my military training in 1973. Loved it ever since. I am the founder and National Commander of the UPN Fire Volunteer campaign.

It's still boiling in my veins, saturating my soul after so many years!
