The MOS for firefighter is now 21M. when I was in it was 51M. you will most likely have to express a stuburn intrest in the job. Do not let them talk you into another by telling you it is not availible. You do you basic training with the army, mine was at Ft Lenardwood MO. Then you are detatcted to the Air Force for firefighter training 8 to 10 weeks then you get your orders to an Army post and after you in process you begin life as a firefighter depending where you are asigned will dictate what assignment you get, structural, crash, both or prevention is available at most Army post. I was assigned to Ft Wainwright in AK. first, it was nice we worked with Fairbanks fire department alot and had a good time learning, and fighting fires in a cold enviroment. If you recruiter doesn't want to work with you, tell him you will go see the Air Force recruiter. and to be honest with you you should, as it is there school and they get a lot more slots (openings for students) than what they give the army. I would of reenlisted if I could of gotten back to go to the rescue scool that the Air Force runs. You can go to Army dot com and look the jub up under I think law enforcement but it is classified under engineering. Let me know how it goes for you, and DO NOt Sign Any type of a job contract until it has the job You want. They do not want to let you change jobs after they spent the time and money to train you in one.
