Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I come from a long family history of public service. I started my career as out of college with the S.C Department of Natural Resources as a Conversation Officer in 1984. I left the department in 1997 and kept up and still have my law enforcement commission as a reserve state police officer....I had worked with fireman over my carreer in joint operations and rescue efforts and got to now alot of the paid firefighters. One day I ran into a old firefighter buddy and he mentioned that the area I live in was looking for volunteers.......I went over and got signed up and here I am today.......I really wanted to take on another challenge becoming a firefighter BUT mostly like all our brothers and sisters I wanted to give more to my community and make that difference that we all aspire to do!!
