Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Golder Ranch Fire District (9 years)
My Training:
Fire Officer 1, II, BS Public Safety Administration, MS Fire Service Management, Paramedic, HazMat, TRT
About Me:
I have been in the fire service for 11 years, promoting through the ranks, serving as a firefighter, paramedic, lieutenant, captain, community services director and have recently completed my Master's Degree from GCU. My book, Fading Scars, is being released on 12/15/2010 which is an inspirational non-fiction about the fire service community and overcoming traumatic injury.
I wanted a better life for me and my children and I wanted to be a part of an organization that helps the community, is diverse and based on an active lifestyle.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is never the same day twice...
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Burn-out, lack of resources, budget cuts, lack of mentorship programs and retention.

Paige, do you work at one of Raytheons, pacific island test areas ? was thinking of applying a few years ago, but ended up on cape cod ,,,, carer change at 46 ,,,, but anyway, welcome to the group ,,,, it's a fun place & does have some interesting blog discussions but i also like seeing how other departments do the same thing ,,,, i also like looking at different styled apparatus's used all over the world ,,,, i'm a crash firefighter and we have some of the weirdest ,,,, word to the wise, if you trade patches be careful, there are a few people here that just want to get, then not send one back ,,,, i won't mail anything now till i have something in hand ,,,, my goal now is not to get a patch from you i do not collect them ,,,, (but i will trade duty tee-shirts from far away countries and that's how i got "BURNED", i sent the sleaze a tee-shirt & 3 patches and got nothing back ...) i'm just watch-n your back, something most of us on the job understand, it's a big part of what the brotherhood and the family is all about ,,,, if you wanna add me as a friend, great ,,,, if not, that too is OK because this message is intended to mostly welcome but also warn you at the same time ,,,,
what we do makes a difference, be safe, god bless and smile a lot, it will piss someone off lmao :) :) ,,,,
