Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
David has volunteered and worked for Grovetown and Martinez Fire Departments; and currently working for Fort Gordon Fire Department
About Me:
I'm the wife of a very devoted husband and have 3 grown children. My husband works on US Combat Survivability; and, my youngest son has enlisted in the US Army to protect our Country. My brother, who's a Ft. Gordon, GA Firefighter invited me to join. I admire most what David's accomplishments are, the lives he's saved, the lives he's touched. Like most people in public safety and service, he's a very humble and generous person. My brother is 38 years old, and the youngest of four; I'm the oldest. He was born in Tokyo Japan. Both of our parents made the U.S. Air Force their career, after our father’s retirement we moved to the Augusta, GA area. David started as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Grovetown Volunteer Fire Department. He then went to work for Fort Gordon. After two years he was hired by the Martinez Fire Department and worked there until just after Sept. 11 2001. It was at that time he knew that he wanted to do something to give back to the troops, so he went back to work for the Fort Gordon Fire Department. He met his wife, Kathy, 20 years ago when she worked for University Ambulance Service and Columbia County, and was stationed out of his Fire House. It just took 14 years for them to find each other and get married. David is a third generation firefighter. The Alpha Fire Company in State Collage Pennsylvania holds a very special place in his heart. Our grandfather and great grandfather, were badge #1 and #2, started the Alpha Fire Company. The Fort Gordon, GA Fire Department handled the Chlorine Gas from Graniteville, South Carolina Train Crash. Fourteen cars on the moving train derailed, including three chlorine tank cars, one of which leaked a cloud of deadly green gas.
