Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I joined originally with a friend whose dad was on years before that just to see what it was like. I was soon hooked and haven't left yet.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
its an adrenelin rush for me and I get to help others while having the satisfaction of knowing I don't have to do it, but I do it because I want to.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
For the volunteer dept's it is aquiring and retaining good dedicated FF's. Also for the small rural dept's and some small urban dept's have the issue of funding to get the training and equipment needed to keep up with the fire service since it is changing everyday.
