Born and raised in Northwestern Ontario.
Love the outdoors.
Play music in a local band. drums,guitar, vocals, learning fiddle
Live in First Nation Community
Father of 3 children.
Started in firefighting in 1985 in Marathon. Worked to Captain/training officer, Community Public Relations Officer, TAPPC.
Move to Pic River in 1999, assumed duties as Deputy Fire Chief.
Currently run all training. Share other duties with our Fire Chief.
Day Job:
working towards some form of self employment.
Relationship Status:
Divorced
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Wanted to help in the community. Knew many of the firefighters, and they asked if I would be interested.
Got hooked on the first fire call, and have been doing it ever since.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It is one of the best ways to give back to the community.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
For us, it is maintaining enough fire fighters at any given time.
Lack of support from the community and Council, and operating with no or very limited budget makes it difficult to stay on top of changes in the fire service.
