- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- I knew alot of people in the emergency service, and I always had an interest in it. I met a good friend whose family was involved in the local department, and we decided to join. It's been an amazing expirience. I am grateful for getting the chance to have the learning expirience. I have gained ALOT of knowledge over the past few years that I couldn't learn anywhere else. Being involved in the Fire Dept is probably the most fulfilling feeling and most amazing thing I can be proud of.

My name is Joy. I am an 18 year old volunteer Firefighter in upstate NY. I have been involved in my FD for almost two years and have taken FFI, Survival, FAST, and just recently took an AVET course at the Fire Academty in Montour Falls.
I am a currently in college and studying English, but I plan on remaining an active memeber in my department when I am home on breaks and such.

We are offering opportunities for full pay and benefits WHILE WE TRAIN YOU to become a professional Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician! These entry level positions require no previous experience. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. A GED is acceptable.
