Fire Fighter Level 1 & 2, Emergency Vehicle Driver certicication
About Me:
I began my career with the fire services as a junior fire fighter at age 16. My father was a charter member of the department and was a primary engineer so I was pretty much assigned to him for the first two years. By the time I was a full fledged member I was already able to operate every apparatus in the building and was well on my way to certification. I fought fire for the next several years and was one of the team leaders when making assaults on structure fires. About 51/2 years ago I got married and as I became a father I decided I needed to calm down a bit so I slid into my dad’s former role as engineer and thats where I’ve been every since. Sometimes when things aren’t going right on a scene the chief will come to me and say, “get a team together and go in there and put this thing out.” It makes me feel good to have that sort of respect. I have never been an officer, never asked to be elected and I feel like it is a popularity contest ant most departments. If I get elected I do if I don’t I don’t. I try to do my duty to the best of my ability.
Also, I go to the local schools to talk to the children about fire safety as you can see by the picture.
Day Job:

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
My father was a charter member of the local fire department so I grew up in a fire station. I like the fact that we help protect our communities and I also enjoy talking to children about fire safety.
