I am also a member of the Gretna Rescue Squad. When I started out volunteering I was a member of the Chatham Volunteer Fire Department and the Chatham Rescue Squad for 2 years.

My Training:

I have completed numerous training certifications. I am currently an NREMT-Intermediate and working on my NREMT-Paramedic. I have completed VDFP FF2, Fire Instructor 2, Fire Officer 3, Mayday, HTR Rope 1, HTR Rope 2, HTR Trench Rescue, HTR Vehicle Rescue, HTR Heavy Vehicle Technician, and HTR Confined Space Rescue. I have completed numerous courses in Fire/EMS supervision, incident command, and incident management. I have also take the Swiftwater Rescue Technician course through Rescue 3 International. I love to train.

About Me:

I am a career firefighter/medic in Franklin County, VA. Our department is a combination department in which the career staff supplements the volunteers. I am a member of the Swiftwater Rescue Team there. I love my job and love to go to work. I work for a system that is very relaxed and is very good to us.

When I am not working I like to hang out with my friends, party, and have fun. I go to as many UVA Football games as I can. Anything else you wanna know just ask me.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I began volunteering after I graduated High School. I had always wanted to get into it because my father volunteered when I was younger but had gotten out of it due a bad knee injury. My local department did not accept junior members therefore I joined when I turned 18. Looking back now I am very glad I was not a junior member and have a very strong stance against junior members in the fire and rescue service.
