About Me:: I have joined as a member of the dive and water rescue team. Who knows where it will lead me. I was just voted in and am now off my 6 month probation. I am now a Senior Firefighter!

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: What's not to love about those shiny red fire trucks?! Or in the case of my department, shiny white fire trucks.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: There is always something new to learn

My humble advice – find a mentor. Someone who has been doing whatever it is that you want to do, for a LONG time. Ask him for help, ask him to take you under his wing. Shadow him, learn from him, learn from his mistakes, LISTEN to him, ask a million questions, do everything he does. Read as much as you can from books. Take classes and seminars. Ask more questions and LISTEN to his advice.
