About Me:: I am on a very small rural department in Illinois along the Mississippi river. We cover about 45 square miles and 9 miles of the river. We have approximately 1500 people in our district. But, we have very large industry. For starters, an Exelon nuclear power plant, a large anhydrous ammonia storage facility, a natural gas power plant, a NHRA dragstrip, 3M chemical plant, a molasses plant, a natural gasoline storage facility, a wood processing facility, two gas stations and a bar. We actually have more employees that work in our district, than live there. In Cordova we are fortunate that the nuclear plant has a burn tower and training facility. They are very good about letting us use this at almost anytime we desire. Some of our surrounding departments use this as well.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I initially joined the fire department to help the community. Shortly after joining I fell in love with the job. I am extremely passionate about the fire service and the 'brotherhood'. I love to learn new things and pass them on to others, so I train as much as possible.
