Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I became a junior firefighter at 16 years old in Bakersville, Pa following in the footsteps of my father, my stepfather and stepbrothers. In 1994, I decided to become an EMT to take up a new career and get out of the factory. Since than I have been employed as an EMT and have never looked back. I became a member of Laurel Lake Rescue squad in 1998 and have obtained positions as Secretary and First Lieutenant and now Captain. Shortly after, I joined Mauricetown Fire Company where I have held the position of Assistant Rescue Captain.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Satisfaction of helping someone in their time of need.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Volunteer recruitment and retention.
