My Training:
I just resumed my interest in the fire and EMS services due to some life setbacks. I finished my EMT Basic classes in Feb. I just finished my HazMat Operations certs. I am also signed up for Emergency Vehicle Ops in September, and will begin Paramedic Classes at Hagerstown Community College this fall.
About Me:
Come see our county in action at www.wcvfraphototeam.org !!
I am a divorced mother of two in a happy and stable relationship with another fellow firefighter. I recently left my very time consuming job to take a job with more flexibility in order to be able to be with my kids and fire companies more and to be able to go to school this fall.
Day Job:
Server at the Olive Garden
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
When I was 12 I witnessed an accident where the vehicle went airborn and the unbelted driver was ejected through the windshield. I screamed to my mom to call 911 and ran outside to the scene. We lived 20 minutes from the nearest firehouse and I watched helplessly as six adults and myself watched this lady die on the side of this country road with no clue what to do or how to help her. Ambulance crews did not arrive until 17 minutes after the accident. She coded on them and died on scene. Early intervention may have saved her life. I decided right then that never again did I want to feel that helpless.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Knowing that what you do makes a huge difference in someones life.

With them exceptional high scores in EMT, this one will go on to be what ever she wants. I still think FF should be her next step. Give her time to get her EMT experience and skills before going for her ALS.
