- Well I am 28 y/o looking to get into the Fed Fire service. Live in Milton, Fl. Born and raised in Allentown, PA. Love the North East and miss the fall season. Did 8 yrs in the Navy. Lived in Va, Ca, and now Fl while in. Did one 8 month cruise, saw a lil bit of the world. And fell in love with fire fighting with all the training I received in the Nav. :) I love my family, my animals, and my friends, and really animals in general. Thats about it in a nut shell :)

- Why I Joined Fire/EMS
- Fell in love with fire fighting starting with ship board fire fighting while I was in the Navy and was able to get certified DOD FF and EMT-B before i got out.
I also grew up in a row home, and at the age of 10 the house next door had a huge fire in their basement. We had to live in a hotel for months! which was great, but it was my first interaction with the loss that a fire can cause. We lots a lot to smoke damage and more importantly are cat Garfield died from smoke inhalation, They tried hard to find him, but he went into the basement where the smoke came through the most. And that house sat boarded up for almost 10 years.

- I love the rush. The brotherhood. The satisfaction of knowing that you could help some one or save something for someone.

- Running out of stupid people doing stupid things in the world.... oh wait, silly me, that'll never happen ;)

We are offering opportunities for full pay and benefits WHILE WE TRAIN YOU to become a professional Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician! These entry level positions require no previous experience. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school. A GED is acceptable.
Our 450 career men and women Firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians are dedicated to protecting lives. Few careers can offer such a challenging and meaningful mission in an atmosphere of teamwork and camaraderie. Prince William County, VA, pop. 380,000, is a large and diverse community located 35 miles southwest of Washington, D. C. We are a growing organization with tremendous learning and promotional opportunities.
If selected, we provide a competitive minimum salary of $44,086 and exceptional benefits. For Advanced Life Support certification, we provide an additional $5,291/year incentive pay plus per hour supplement pay. Annual retention supplements are also offered. Employees are eligible for up to $5,000/year tuition reimbursement, and we offer a stipend for individuals who are bilingual English/Spanish. We offer an excellent benefits package with additional retirement options for Firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians.
