About Me:
I started as a volunteer when I was 19 with the Westmoreland NH Fire Department. I am a fourth generation firefighter with my grandfather and father having served in Auburn Ma and my greatgrandfather having been a past fire chief of the Keene NH department. I went to Keene State College origanally for sports medicine but after I started being a volunteer I feel in love with the job and changed colleges and majors and graduated in 1998 with dual degrees in fire science and fire investigation. I worked for a year after graduation for a private ambulance before being hired by the City of Keene Fire Department where I worked for 5 years. In 2004 I decided to make a change I wanted to work in a bigger city so I applied and was hired by the City of Nashua Fire Department. I now work in a city of about 100,000 people and a career department with about 200 fulltime firefighters. When not working at the fire house I own and operate my own training business providing training to firefighters, emt's and private business and offer a large variety of training programs. I also work for Northeast Rescue Systems out of Boston doing over the road sales of fire equipment and clothing.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I started as a volunteer with the Westmoreland NH fire department. I went to college and graduated from NHCTC dual associates degrees in fire science and fire investigation. I was then hired in 1999 by the City of Keene NH department, then left in the spring on 2004 to take a firefighter position with the City of Nashua Fire Department.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
Everyday on duty and every call are always something different. There are never two days that are the same at work.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety especially with the economy being as it is. You hear more and more about staffing being cut across the country and we all know that firefigher deaths are not going down on average. We killing the same number of firefighters every year and if you read the line of duty death reports more then half are avoidable. We need to police ourselfs better when it comes to safety.
