About Me:

I joined the Dimmitt F.D. Reserves in 1997 and served there till mid 1999. At first we were just supposed to learn the basic functions of a volunteer fire dept. Then we ended up being issued gear so we could assist with rolling hose and things of that sort. Before long we were responding to calls and assisting with extrication and grass and cotton fires. I got out of the fire service till 2003 when i met a firefighter with the Olton Fire Dept and she convinced me to join. Of course it didnt take much convincing. I missed the feeling of being part of the tightknit family of the fire service. I served there for 3 years until my wife wanted to move closer to her family in Tulia. I put in my application for the Tulia Fire Dept and was voted on probationary status in November of 2007.

Its been my childhood dream to be a firefighter.

Being able to help people. I enjoy when im encountered by a curious child full of questions about firefighting.

In our area we lack in manpower. For some reason people dont want to put their lives in danger for their neighbor. We are living in world where people just dont care.
