I was told by one of their Chiefs that when they arrived on scene, they only had ankle deep water and that it got up to their armpits in about an hour. This is in the Florida Keys during Hurricane Wilma in 2005. By the way, at this point, Wilma had already gone past them and this was the backside of the storm.

Wow, I've experience fighting a working fire in the middle of tropical storm. But never experience, firefighting in a waist deep flood water. That's a rare picture.
