I started volunteering 3 years ago and started with EMT school in Loudoun County Virginia. In Ashburn, we were a combined fire/rescue department so I began being interested in the fire side. I went through fire school in the fall 2008 and loved it! I recently moved from Loudoun County, VA to Powell, OH (outside of Columbus) for my day job and am interested in finding a place to volunteer here!

Susan, get in touch with Columbus Fire or stop by one of thier stations. They run a program down there that I found out about from a former FFN member. The guys and gals in Columbus are a great bunch and will point you in the right direction

Susan, Welcome to the FF Nation. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.
