Hi Shawn, Just spoke with your mom today. She is really good people. I feel lucky to have you and your parents as friends. I have returned back to work, but now am working in an office, training for a new position handling the logistical needs of the department. I will be responsible for all the apparatus and equipment purchasing, station design and construction for new stations, equipment research and development, communications and more... They wanted a senior captain with a lot of background... That would be me.

So what would you like to see from my side of the world Shawn? I can only send pictures for now, and I know you are on a dial up so you have to get on and get off, I think. So when you write me, I will try to reply with another cool photo.

Hope all is well in your part of the world. Are you going to follow the Olympics? I can't remember your age exactly but I figured your close in age to one of my daughters. Here's my middle one in the back of my engine. We gave her a ride and she was playing with her laptop's GPS system while we drove. She loves wearing the headsets... Hope your having a great summer... Hey Shawn, Thought I'd see if you were interested in sharing information about our different cultures, jobs, what you buy at the grocery store, you know, just basic learn about each others worlds and make a new friend. I like to cook as well and would love to share recipes if you know anyone who's into cooking if your not. I figure most firefighters have to have some degree of culinary skill to survive their turn for cooking. Anyway, would love to chat with you. I also have some killer photos to share as well being a fire photographer. Let me know if I can share any fire department operations or prevention training materials or concepts. I have a very strong background in hazmat reponse and decontamination for firefighters, victims and hospital personnel. I am hoping to someday visit South Africa and provide training on these subjects with my wife who works as an emergency trauma registered nurse. Hope you write back. Stay safe. Mike
