Why I Joined Fire/EMS: To help my community. We were having problems getting people to volunteer so I decided to join my husband in volunteering. They really needed somone with some medical background and this is what got me started doing this volunteer work.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: helping people

Top Issues Facing Responders:: Not enough volunteers.

Mico VFD

Mico Volunteer Fire Department has come a long way with the leadership of our new fire chief Steve Cerwin. He has great leadership skills and our dept has grown from 4 active firefighters to 16 active firefighters. 11 of us finished our FF1 training on November 18th. We are also CPR, AED, First Aid trained. We are currently working on a website and will post it as soon as it is done.
