Slow responses don't worry me - I've been known to be tardy myself many a time...

You seem to take all the crap OK so all is good. I've seen some really pointless arguments, been involved in a couple myself! When I realised that the main anti-any-other-view people were taking it to the nasty level I picked up my ball and went home - I can't be bothered with it. They certainly didn't want to listen to what I was saying, though straingly nobody attacked me - this time! I've been attacked before for suggesting that 38mm (1.5 inch) does the job perfectly well here and that 64mm (2.5) is left for hydrant to pump feeds.

Strangely enough we were actually discussing the 64mm topic last night at a brigade management team meeting. Nobody there can remember the last time that the large hose was used for anything but pump feed - looks like I'm the only person in this Brigade that has seen it used for attack. And that was for surround and drown!

Like you, we'll keep using our 'small' diameter hose for primary internal attack and also like you probably still keep having good and safe results.

Hello Michael. Unless you are really enjoying the fight on the "2 1/2" thread I'd be inclined to leave it. Too many people seem to want a fight, one that no-one can win really! I've been trying to keep the peace, but might soon start insulting some of those who won't allow us the freedom to use our smaller diameter hoses... I might follow my own advise and post there no more ;-)
