Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
I have been with this department since 1978 except for a 2 year period from 1983 - 1985 where I ran with the fire department in St. James, Missouri.
My Training:
Level 2 Firefighter
EMT-B
Fire Instructor
About Me:
I enjoy the fire service. Also enjoy getting outdoors and enjoying nature. I have a cabin on a small lake in northern Ontario where I like to get away when the stress of daily life builds up....haha.
Day Job:
Thomas School Bus dealership
Relationship Status:
Single
Facebook or Other Online Profile:

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
A co-worker of my dad's asked him to join the department. He said he wasn't interested, but his son (me) might be. That was 30 years ago. I thought it would be great knowledge to have and use to help others in the community. It is a very fulfilling experience.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
It's a good feeling to make someone's bad day a little better.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Keeping volunteers is a tough job. The increased demands on volunteers by state and federal agencies is very stressful. Daytime is especially difficult with most volunteers working full time jobs during the day. Also, being a rural department, tax money is an issue. Our tax base stays the same but expenses go up every year.
