    Stay safe
  • cynthia ehlers

So far it has been great..When we are doing trainging he is the one who is up first, and calling me and making sure I am doing it right also..We have several women in our dept. (which are family and they like to sit back and joke around, they do include me), but my husband is one there is a time for horesplay but not when we are training on something important. Don't get me wrong he does alot of joking to...We both keep up with who has been on what calls.. So its been fun

I like your forum post. I agree that women have every right to not only be firefighters, but with the proper time in, training and possesing leadership skills, should and hopefully will run amongst the men for the positions of power in the fire departments. If someone has blatent disreguard for you because of your gender, than they shouldnt be on the job. In 2007, we shouldnt be having conversations about sexist pigs, or racism, it is a thing of the past, lets move forward to the real world, one thats rapidly progressing towards equality throughout the work force, firehouse included

just wanted to say hey and stay safe. hope u have a good day.
  • Engineco913

if it makes you feel any better, Yes some of the women are not suitable for interior firefighting, but in my departments, as well as several others, there are just as many men if not more whom are also not stable enough for interior work. Its up to the CO's to determine when someones ready and has the proper training. It's our jobs to work with what we have and make it work

Hello From Texas. Thanks for the add. Be safe and stay careful out there on your runs.
  • Chris Davis

Been raining here the past few days. It has actually been quiet we have only had a 10-50 and a few med calls this week. So it has been pretty tame.

  • YOU GO, WE GO

  • Randy Macey

Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.

Enjoy, be safe and remember we all come home.
