I wanted to thank all the Firefighters and Honor Guards that showed their support yesterday in St Anna. It proves that firefighters are more than just a brotherhood, its a family.

End of Feb may no be too bad, weather wise, but never know. How long will you be in town for? Just a day?

Green Bay is a 2 hour drive away, I lived in Madison for 3 years though while going to school, nice city. Feb is still cold, so some things cold be interesting, cold, mild, snow, sun, never know here. There are a few Frank Lloyd Wright designs around Madison.

When are you going to be in Madison?

Yeah, somewhat similar, the street goes to the UW student union area on one end and up to the state capitol building, which is neat to see in its own right.(it is modeled after the U.S. Capitol building) Lots of little stores, pubs, restaurants etc. There tends to be some performers now and then, but maybe not much in Feb. There are also some museums, the performing art centerup by the capitol building. If looking for a nice place to eat, I would recommend the Great Dane, it is a brewpub and has good food, but there will be plenty of options. Also not too far from the capitol is the Monona Terrace, a building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Just an FYI though Francis, you can't drive on State St, but there are plenty of ramps close by and things are in close walking distance.

Francis, State St is always a good place to go in Madison, many places to eat and drink and quite the variety as well. Everything is pretty close to State St, the college campus, could be a game going on at the Kohl Center, depends what you are looking for, but there are many options in the area.
