No Department in our District does it,As far As i Know!

Its a biger think in the U.S anyways!so it makes alot sence to me!
We only do special duty shifts on bigger events in the city!or when alot People
Get togther(mass. Events)
Our department here does not either.I don't know what's the matter with people in my area I guess they don't think it's fun to light buildings on fire on devils nite.haven't quite figured them out yet cause it seems like so much fun!!!
We ask for people to be at the station and hand out candy. It is great to see the kids and they like to get their picture taken by our trucks.

We ask for donations from the members (either cash or candy) and take shifts handing out candy. If we have a call, one or two people will stay behind.
no stand by or nothing at the stations. if we get a call we go. most of our guys on our dept. has kids so they will be out with their kids or home passing out candy unless the tones drop. it's kind of funny but when you are trying to do something fun with your kids/family thats when the tones drop. well every one have a happy halloween and don't eat to much candy
The area's that I work do a standby. They will staff an engine and then drive around the neighborhoods. Remember that it is not just good for the extra calls that you sometimes get but it is good PR as well. The public gets to see you out there more and actually participating in the community events.
