Hey everyone I debated whether or not to put this up but my family has been taking part in the American Cancer Society's relay for life for a couple years now.

My dad fought and beat cancer while my wifes dad succombed to it in 1997. We have also lost aunts, uncles, mentors and friends.

If anyone would like to donate Im enclosing the link if you dont want to donate all I ask is that you look in your area for events that benifit the American Cancer Society.

I beat cancer in 87 so I support your idea 100%. Relay for life is a very worthy cause and my wife captains 3 teams. One of her teams took an old toilet bowl with the tank on it and painted it purple which you know is the survivors color. They then made a sign that says "Help flush away cancer". This butt ugly toilet is used as a "traveling fund raiser" here in town. The way it works is that about a month before the relay night we choose the first victim and place the toilet and sign in their front yard. Attached are instructions explaining that for a free will donation the bowl will be removed, if they want to name the next "victim" they may do so for a $5.00 fee and if they want to buy insurance so it does not come back they may do so for another $5.00. The first year went so well that I was moving the toilet an average of 3 times a day and just about everyone paid the money to name a victim and purchase the insurance. She raised just shy of $2,000.00 in a 5 week span and this year a second bowl will be added. She has had a great amount of fun with this project and the local paper actually featured pictures of it in front of several homes. If you like the idea please feel free to use it. It is a pretty easy way to raise money for an excellent cause. TCSS Andrew
