year, make, model, how much water does it hold, how many gpm, how many guys does it hold, special equipment, and the big one, what did it cost... we all know that the first due engine is one of the most important trucks we have, and also one of the coolest ones to brag about! we also know that its usually the "small town" fire departments that have the nicest trucks...so let the braggin begin! ill begin... ours is a 2007 Pierce Enforcer rescue pumper, 6 man cab, side mount pump controls, 750 gal tank, pumps 1500 GPM, PTO generator, electric/hydraulic jaws power unit with on board reels for jaws, 2 500' power cord reels... i believe it cost around $400,000.00 with all new equipment.

thanks for the reply doug, nice trucks! a light tower is one thing that i wish we would have added to ours, we have a brow light, 2 in the middle of the truck and two tripods on the rear that u can leave attached to the truck or take em off and use them on standard 110v. but one of our neighboring towns has a heavy rescue with a light tower and that really sheds some light on the situation! we also have the tripple air bag system...its nice. and we carry 1 backboard, head blocks, spider straps and a full ems jump bag on board, but no med compartment. the backboard is in with the ladders, headblocks and spiders are in the rear "power" compartment, and the jump bag is in the center of the cab with us.

For EMS calls, we roll the GMC squad in the foreground. For MVA or fire calls, we roll engine 40. For structure fires, we'll roll either engine (40 is usually first). Engine 40 is an '06 HME Silverfox 2200 GPM with a Waterous CAFS unit. It also carries full extrication equipment (all TNT). Engine 42 is a '98 HME with a 4-Guys body. It's rated at 1500 GPM, and also carries a TNT combi-tool. Squad 49 is an '08 Top-kick 4x4 with a Palmetto body. It has a 750 GPM pump with Darley Fast-foam unit, 2 1 3/4 pre-connects and booster reel. This truck also carries TNT tools. All trucks-even the '91 International tanker- are equipped with Hale pumps.
sweet, love it when people have pics! we also have a gmc 4500, its a 2005 set up as a brush rig. with a 500 gal tank and a small 500 gpm pump. i like the truck, were thinking of doing away with the duallies and going to super singles and putting 36" super swamper irok's on it since it is primarily an "off road" rig. and i wish it was crew cab like the one in the pic...that would be nice. thanks for the reply... stay safe
I guess i could expand a little bit, we can throw in first due tankers and brush rigs too... our first due tanker is a 1999 Peterbilt, 4000 gal built by Custom Fire. has rear and both side chutes, all hydraulic and fully operational from inside the cab... our first due brush rig is the one mentioned in the above comment, a 2005 GMC 4500, 500 gal tank and 500 gpm pump, with foam system. the frame for the pump and tank was built by one of our firefighters and is made to "quick disconnect" from the truck so it can be used as a flatbed dump truck if needed. just raise the bed slightly, slide the legs in place, un bolt it, lower the bed and drive away.
2008 international 5 man cab with a seagrave 1500 gpm 1250 gal tank. Side mount pump panel, 4 tower scene lights, jaws, saws and truck tools. Also has cribbing and ventilation fan. Bought it brand new and has been a great truck so far, unsure of the cost but it doesn't matter anyway. Stay safe out there brothers!
Depends on the situation, In the city we have an 01 or 02 Freightliner holds either 4 or 6 personnel, 500 gallons i don't know the gpm, and i don't know the cost. If it is out in the county, we have an 02 or 03 Pierce holds 6 personnel and 1500 gallons, again don't now gpm or cost. both have side mounted controls, and the county engine holds the back up Hurst tools.
My stations first engine due is older then most its a 1997 Frieghtliner FL-70 5 man cab 1250 gpm top mount, P pump 2000 gallon tank, deluge/ monitor gun.this engine has just normal firefighting equipment
we got the oldest truck i believe, It is 1981 grunnum international 6 man cab ,1000 gallon steel tank which pumps 1000gpm.middle ride pump controls with a big deluge gun mounted on top.5 diffirent discharges to fight from and it was free
Engine 610 is our frontline Engine, or Pumper depending where you're from.

1000 gallon poly tank. 1500 g/m pump.
our first due engine is a 1984 international grumman it holds 6 people we have pretty much all we need for firefighting on it its got a 1000 gallon tank and a 1000 gpm pump i think our biggest tool on it is prolly our newish k-12 saw and our new generator. The truck didnt cost us a dime we got it donated by another dept about a year or so back its a great running truck and does the job for us.
